How we write and review what appears on The Tools Kit.

This page explains how tool descriptions, calculator content, and blog guides on The Tools Kit are written, sourced, and kept up to date. It applies to every tool page, the calculator methodology page, and the guides published under Blogs.

Who writes our content

Tool descriptions, how-to steps, FAQs, and blog guides are written by our in-house team, led by Raja Jahangir, who leads search and content strategy for The Tools Kit. Content is written to describe how each tool actually works, based on testing the tool itself rather than assuming behavior.

What we do and do not claim

We describe each tool's real capabilities and real limitations. Where a tool has a constraint, for example that a converter supports English text only, that a calculator produces an estimate rather than an exact figure, or that a checker uses rule-based logic rather than a machine-learning model, we say so directly in that tool's FAQ or description rather than implying broader capability than the tool has.

We do not claim our free tools replace licensed professional advice. Calculators covering pay, tax, or loans are labeled as estimates for planning purposes, not tax, legal, or financial advice. If you need advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified professional.

Sourcing and review dates

Where a tool or calculator relies on external data, such as federal tax brackets, state sales tax rates, or a published algorithm, we cite the source directly on that page (see the Calculator Methodology page for the calculators' specific sources). Each tool page shows a "Last reviewed" date, reflecting when its content was last checked against the tool's actual behavior.

Figures that change on a fixed schedule, like annual federal tax brackets, are updated when the new figures are published. State-level and local figures vary by jurisdiction and change independently of the federal schedule, so we label those as approximate and point readers to the relevant official source to confirm the current rate for their situation.

Corrections

If you find an inaccurate claim, an outdated figure, or a tool description that no longer matches how the tool behaves, tell us. We review every report and correct confirmed errors. Contact us at thetoolskit.co@gmail.com or through our Contact page.
