Financial, tax, and everyday calculators
The largest group on the site, and the one people arrive at with the most specific questions: what a salary actually pays after tax, what a loan costs per month, what a percentage works out to. The tax and payroll calculators are built on real published rate tables rather than a single blended rate, and each states the tax year it is using. They are planning estimates, not filings — the assumptions behind every one are written up on the methodology page.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate are the tax and payroll calculators?
They apply published bracket tables, standard deductions, and contribution rates for the stated tax year, so the arithmetic is exact for the assumptions shown. Your actual withholding depends on your W-4 or equivalent, employer payroll system, benefits, and any local taxes. Treat the output as a planning estimate and confirm final figures with your payroll provider.
Which tax year do they use?
Each calculator states its tax year on the page. The US calculators currently use 2026 federal figures alongside each state’s own rates.
Do they cover countries other than the US?
Yes. There are dedicated calculators for the UK (take-home pay, student loan, stamp duty, VAT), Canada (income tax by province, GST/HST, CPP and EI, RRSP, TFSA), India (income tax, GST, EMI, SIP, CTC to in-hand), and Pakistan (salary tax, sales tax), plus Zakat.
Is any of this financial advice?
No. These are calculators: they do arithmetic on the numbers you enter. They do not account for your circumstances and are not a substitute for a qualified accountant or financial adviser.
Where can I see the assumptions?
The calculator methodology page documents the formulas, rate sources, and simplifications used across the financial calculators, so you can judge whether a given estimate fits your situation.
