JPG to PNG

JPG to PNG converts a single JPG (or WebP) image into a lossless PNG file entirely inside your browser. Drop a file onto the upload area or click to browse, press Convert to PNG, then download the result. Nothing is sent to a server, the conversion runs on an HTML canvas on your own device.

How do you convert a JPG to PNG?

To convert a JPG to PNG, upload the .jpg file, click Convert to PNG, and download the result with the same filename and a .png extension. The image is redrawn onto a canvas in your browser and saved losslessly, so the pixels are not degraded further, but the file is usually larger because PNG does not use JPG’s lossy compression.

Does converting JPG to PNG improve image quality?

No. Any detail already lost to JPG compression cannot be recovered; the PNG simply preserves the current pixels exactly, without adding further loss. Converting to PNG is worthwhile when an image must be edited repeatedly, needs a transparent background added later, or is required in PNG format by a website or application.

Runs in your browser. Your files and text never leave your device - nothing is uploaded.
