What this Delete PDF Pages tool actually does
This is a free PDF page remover that drops the pages you name and keeps everything else, in its original order. Whether you need to delete PDF pages one at a time, remove pages from PDF in bulk, or just trim a document down before sending it, it works the same way: type the page numbers or ranges, and those pages are left out of the new file.
It copies the pages you keep rather than re-rendering them, so this online PDF page remover produces a document that looks and behaves exactly like the original, minus the pages you removed.
How to delete pages from a PDF
- 1
Upload your PDF
Open the document in your usual viewer first and note the page numbers you want gone, then drop the PDF onto the upload area. The file you chose is only read, never overwritten.
- 2
Type the pages to delete
Enter page numbers and ranges separated by commas, like 2, 4-5, 9, to drop exactly those pages.
- 3
Delete the pages
The tool checks your entry against the real page count, then rebuilds the PDF without those pages.
- 4
Download the edited PDF
Save the trimmed file, with "-edited" added to the filename automatically.
pdf-lib copies the pages you keep into a fresh document inside this browser tab. The pages you delete are simply left out, and the PDF itself never travels to a server.
How to delete PDF pages without Adobe Acrobat or extra software
You do not need Adobe Acrobat, or any desktop software at all, to delete pages from PDF files. This free PDF page remover runs entirely inside your browser tab: choose your file, type a page range, download the result. There is no signup, no trial period, and no limit on how many times you delete PDF pages online.
How the page-range field works
Typing page numbers is how you tell the tool which pages to remove. It is a single text field, not a list of per-page checkboxes and not a grid of page thumbnails, so you need to already know which pages you want gone before you start.
- A single number removes one page, so 7 deletes just page 7.
- A dash covers a run of pages, so 4-5 deletes pages 4 and 5.
- Commas combine several numbers and ranges, so 2, 4-5, 9 removes pages 2, 4, 5, and 9 in one pass.
Your entry is checked against the document's real page count before anything runs. A number outside that range is ignored rather than causing an error, and the tool will not let you remove every page, so you always end up with a usable file.
Removing blank pages, honestly
No. There is no automatic blank-page detection here, so you need to open the PDF, note which page numbers are blank, and type them into the page-range field yourself. If a scan produced many blank pages scattered through a long document, that manual check is the slower part of the job, not the deletion itself.
Removing pages, or keeping only some?
“Delete pages” and “remove pages” mean the same thing, and this tool does both, you name the pages to drop and keep everything else. Which tool you want depends on what you are trying to end up with:
- Drop a few pages, keep one file. Use this page. Enter the page numbers or ranges to remove, for example 2, 4-5, 9, and download the rest as a single PDF.
- Keep only a few pages out of many. Listing everything you do not want gets tedious fast, it is quicker to split the PDF and keep the range you need.
- Reorder pages as well as remove them. Organize PDF lets you rearrange and delete in one pass, so you only rebuild the file once.
- The page content is fine but the margins are wrong. You want Crop PDF or Rotate PDF instead, no pages need removing at all.
Whichever you use, the work happens in your browser with pdf-lib. Your PDF is never uploaded, so there is no file-size ceiling imposed by a server and no copy of your document left behind.
Delete PDF Pages terms explained
Removing, deleting, selecting and editing pages get mixed up in search results, yet each means something narrower once you are typing numbers into the page-range field. Here is how this page uses them.
| Term | What it means here |
|---|---|
| PDF pages | The individual pages inside your document, numbered from 1 |
| Page removal | Dropping one or more pages so they are not in the output file |
| Unwanted pages | Pages you want gone from the final PDF, such as blanks or duplicates |
| Blank pages | Empty pages with no content, which this tool does not detect automatically |
| Selected pages | The specific page numbers or ranges you type in to remove |
| Page selection | Choosing which pages to remove by typing their numbers or ranges |
| PDF editing | Changing a PDF’s pages, order, or content, as opposed to just viewing it |
| Document editing | The broader task of modifying a document, of which page removal is one part |
Deleting pages on Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android
On Windows or a Mac it is easiest to keep the PDF open in a second window so you can read off the page numbers while you type them. On an iPhone or Android phone, the tool shows the page count once you pick the file, but the range field needs exact numbers rather than taps on thumbnails, so check which pages you want gone in the Files or Drive preview first. Either way the trimmed copy saves to your normal downloads location, and there is no app to install.
Is it free, and is my file safe?
Deleting pages on The Tools Kit costs nothing, and the trimmed PDF comes back without any stamp, banner or extra page added to what you kept.
Because page removal happens on your own device, your PDF is never uploaded to a server. That matters most for the pages people usually delete, such as a bank statement or ID scan that slipped into a packet.
Common uses
- Removing a blank or duplicate page from a scanned document
- Stripping a cover page or appendix before sharing a report
- Cutting an outdated page out of a multi-page contract before resending it
- Trimming a scanned packet down to just the pages a reviewer needs
- Deleting a page you filled out incorrectly before submitting a form
Deleting PDF pages for the USA, Canada, and UK
Dropping a page a portal does not want, or that was scanned by mistake, matters most when an upload has strict requirements. That comes up in a few common places:
- USA: a US visa application, a US job application, or US government paperwork sometimes gets scanned with an extra cover sheet or blank page that needs deleting before submission.
- Canada: Canadian immigration paperwork, a Canadian job application, or Canadian government documents can pick up a stray blank or duplicate page during scanning that is easiest to delete rather than rescan.
- UK: a UK visa application, HMRC paperwork, or a UK job application often just needs one unwanted page taken out rather than the whole document redone.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. It is a free PDF page remover with no signup, no watermark, and no daily limit, so you can delete PDF pages online as often as you need.
Yes. After you choose the file, click Even pages or Odd pages and the field fills with every even or odd page number in the document, such as 2, 4, 6 and so on. That is useful for removing the blank backs of a double-sided scan. Check the line that says how many pages will be deleted and kept, then click Delete Pages.
Upload your PDF, type the page numbers or ranges you want removed, such as 2, 4-5, 9, and click Delete Pages. The remaining pages download as a new file with the pages you named left out.
Type just that page number, for example 7, and click Delete Pages. Deleting one page works exactly the same way as deleting many, just with a shorter entry.
Yes. Separate page numbers and ranges with commas, like 2, 4-5, 9, to remove several pages or page ranges in a single pass.
Identify the page numbers you do not want, type them into the page-range field, comma-separated, and run the tool. Every page you did not list is kept in its original order.
No. There is no automatic blank-page detection here, so you need to open the PDF, note which page numbers are blank, and type them into the page-range field yourself. If a scan produced many blank pages scattered through a long document, that manual check is the slower part of the job, not the deletion itself.
Enter the exact page numbers, or ranges, of the pages you want gone. The field accepts a mix, such as 1, 3-4, 10, so you are not limited to one contiguous block.
Type 1 into the page-range field and click Delete Pages. The rest of the document shifts up by one, keeping its original order.
Type the last page’s number, which you can see once the file is loaded, and click Delete Pages. The document downloads without that final page.
Yes. There is nothing to install and no account to create. Everything runs online in your browser, so you can delete PDF pages without Adobe Acrobat, a desktop PDF editor, or any other software.
No, at least one page has to remain in the output. If your entry would remove every page in the document, the tool blocks the operation instead of producing an empty file.
Out-of-range numbers are ignored rather than causing an error. If nothing you typed falls within the document’s real page count, the tool asks for a valid range instead of silently doing nothing.
Probably not directly. Listing every page you do not want gets tedious once you are keeping only a handful out of a long document. It is usually quicker to use our Split PDF tool and enter the range you want to keep instead of the pages you want gone.
Not with this tool, which only removes pages and keeps the remaining ones in their original order. If you also need to move pages around, use our Organize PDF tool, which lets you reorder and remove pages in the same pass.
No. The pages you keep are copied into the new document rather than re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution exactly.
Not while it is locked. Remove the password first by opening the PDF and saving an unprotected copy, then delete pages from that copy.
No. Page removal runs entirely in your browser, so your PDF stays on your device and is never sent to a server.
Need something else? Use our Split PDF tool to extract a range instead of listing removals, Organize PDF to reorder and remove pages together, Crop PDF to fix margins, or Rotate PDF to fix orientation. When you are ready to combine files, use Merge PDF. Removing pages shifts the numbering of everything after them, so if the document prints page numbers, add fresh ones with Add Page Numbers to PDF. A shorter scan can still be heavy, and Compress PDF brings it under an upload limit. The rest of the page tools are on the PDF tools hub.

How do you delete pages from a PDF?
To delete pages from a PDF, upload the file, type the pages you want removed, such as 2, 4-5, or pick all even or odd pages, then download the trimmed document. Deleting pages this way needs no Adobe Acrobat and no account, and the PDF is processed in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
How do you remove pages from a PDF without Acrobat?
Removing pages from a PDF without Acrobat only needs a browser. Open the PDF in a web-based page remover, enter the unwanted page numbers, and save the result. No Adobe subscription, desktop install, or account is required, and the page order of everything you keep stays exactly as it was.
Can you delete a single page from a PDF?
Yes. Deleting one page from a PDF works the same as deleting many: enter just that page number and download the new file. The remaining pages keep their original order and quality, because the pages you keep are copied across rather than re-rendered or recompressed.
