How do you crop an image online?
To crop an image, upload it, drag the selection box to the area you want to keep, and drag the corners to resize it; the pixel size of the crop is shown live. Choose Free, Square, 16:9, 4:3 or 3:2 to lock the aspect ratio, then click Crop Image and download the result as a JPG.
Which aspect ratio should you crop to?
Use Square (1:1) for profile pictures and Instagram grid posts, 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails, presentation slides and widescreen banners, 4:3 for older displays and many print layouts, and 3:2 for standard 6x4 inch photo prints. Free mode lets you crop to any proportions when the image is for your own use.
