Why use Email Validator?

Email Validator answers two separate questions about an address. First, is it shaped like a valid email? A regular expression runs in your browser to confirm there is text before the @ symbol, text after it, and a domain that contains at least one dot. That single regex drives three of the on-screen checks: Format is valid, Has @ symbol, and Has valid domain. Second, can that domain actually accept mail? For this the tool takes the domain portion of your address and sends it to the site's DNS API, which performs a live MX (mail exchange) record lookup against Google's public 8.8.8.8 resolver. If the domain returns one or more MX records, the MX records found check passes. The interface is deliberately minimal. There is one Email Address field with a user@example.com placeholder and a single Validate button that reads Validating while the DNS lookup is in flight. You can also press Enter to run the checks. Results appear as four rows, each with a green tick, a red cross, or an hourglass while the MX query is still resolving, followed by a summary banner that reads Valid Email Address or Invalid Email Address and echoes back the exact domain it inspected. It validates one address per run, so there is no batch mode, file upload, or list processing. On data handling and legitimate use: the format checks never leave your browser, and only the domain part of the address is sent to the server so it can run the DNS query for MX records, which is a normal, public lookup used to confirm a domain is configured to receive mail. Does this confirm the mailbox exists and can receive mail?

No. It confirms the address is correctly formatted and that the domain publishes MX records, meaning the domain is set up to accept mail. It does not connect to the mailbox or verify that the specific user account exists.

How is the format check performed?

What does the MX records found check do?
