How do you convert a PNG to JPG?
To convert a PNG to JPG, upload the .png file, set the JPEG quality slider between 40% and 100% (92% by default), and click Convert to JPG. Transparent areas are filled with a solid background because JPG cannot store transparency. The conversion runs in the browser and the file is usually much smaller than the original PNG.
What JPEG quality setting should you use?
A quality of 85% to 92% keeps a photo visually identical to the original while cutting the file size substantially, and is the usual choice for websites. Dropping to 70% roughly halves the size again with slight softening in fine detail. Below 60%, blocky artefacts become visible, so reserve those settings for thumbnails.
