What this Text Repeater tool actually does
This is a free text repeater that takes whatever word, phrase, or block of text you enter and generates multiple copies of it, one per line, instead of you copying and pasting the same text over and over. Whether you need to repeat text online for testing a form, generate repeated placeholder content, or just duplicate a phrase for fun, you type it once, set a count, and every copy appears together.
The tool caps out at 1,000 repetitions per generation — plenty for testing an input field or filling a template, without producing an unmanageably long block of text.
How to repeat text online
- 1
Enter your text
Type or paste the word, phrase, or block of text you want repeated into the Text To Repeat box.
- 2
Set the repeat count
Enter how many times to repeat it in the Repeat How Many Times field. It defaults to 5 and accepts up to 1,000.
- 3
Copy the result
The repeated text appears instantly below, one copy per line. Click Copy to place it on your clipboard.
Changing the count re-generates the output straight away, so you can step from 5 copies to 50 to 500 and watch the block grow without pressing a separate generate button.
Repeating text without installing anything
You do not need a "abc" * 100 line in Python or a fill-down in a spreadsheet to repeat text. The Tools Kit’s text repeater takes the phrase and a count and hands back the stacked copies, ready to paste. If you are filling a layout with dummy copy rather than one repeated phrase, the Lorem Ipsum generator gives more natural-looking paragraphs.
The repeat count, honestly
The repeat count is capped at 1,000 copies per generation, and it has a floor of 1 — entering 0, a negative number, or a non-numeric value falls back to a single copy rather than an error. So a request to repeat text 1,000 times works exactly as asked, but there is no way to generate an unlimited or uncapped number of copies in one go; running the tool again with the same text is the way to go beyond 1,000.
How the copies are separated
Every repeated copy is placed on its own line, separated by a line break — that is the "one copy per line" behavior. There is no setting to join the copies with a comma, a space, or a custom separator here. If you need the copies on a single line, paste the output into Remove Line Breaks and choose either a single space or comma plus space as the joiner. Going the other way, running a repeated list through Remove Duplicate Lines collapses it back to one copy.
Text Repeater terms explained
“Repeat”, “duplicate”, and “multiply” all get used for what this page does, and the count field is sometimes mistaken for a character count. This table separates each term as it applies to the repeater above.
| Term | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Text repetition | Producing multiple copies of the same text, one after another |
| Repeat count | The number of copies to generate, set in the Repeat How Many Times field |
| Duplicate text | A copy of the original text that is identical to it |
| Text duplicator | Another common name for a text repeater tool |
| Repeated phrase / word / sentence | The specific unit of text being duplicated, whatever you type in |
| Separator | What sits between each repeated copy — fixed at a line break (newline) in this tool |
| Text generator | The broader category of tool this falls into: something that produces text output automatically |
Repeating text on Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android
Desktop text editors can repeat a line with a macro, but phones have no equivalent, so a repeater in the browser is the quickest route on iPhone and Android as well as on Windows and Mac. Enter your text, set a count, and copy the result on whatever device you are using.
Common uses
- Generating repeated placeholder or filler text to test a UI layout or template
- Duplicating a short phrase to test a form field’s or database column’s character limit, then checking the exact length in the Character Counter
- Creating a repeated pattern of a word or sentence for a novelty message
- Quickly producing a list of identical entries instead of pasting the same line by hand
Text repeater for the USA, Canada, and UK
Repeating text has no regional variation — a repeated phrase looks and behaves identically whether you are in the US, Canada, or the UK, since the tool just duplicates whatever you give it a set number of times. It still comes up in the same lightweight, everyday ways everywhere:
- USA: repeating a catchy line to test how it looks stacked up for a social post.
- Canada: duplicating a phrase to stress-test a form field's character limit.
- UK: generating a repeated word or phrase as a quick game or puzzle prompt.
Frequently asked questions
Type or paste the text you want repeated, enter how many times in the Repeat How Many Times field, and the result appears instantly below with one copy per line. Click Copy to grab it.
Yes. It is free and needs no account. The only limit is the 1,000-copy cap on a single run, and you can run it again as many times as you need.
There is a hard maximum of 1,000 repetitions built into the tool, so entering a higher number still produces exactly 1,000 copies. There is also a minimum of 1 — entering 0, a negative number, or something non-numeric falls back to a single copy rather than an error.
Yes. Any count from 1 up to the 1,000-repetition maximum works — enter 100 in the repeat count field and 100 copies of your text appear, one per line.
Yes. Small counts like 10 work the same way as large ones — enter the number and the result updates immediately.
Each copy is placed on its own line, separated by a line break. There is no option to separate copies with a comma, a space, or a custom character instead — the output is always one copy per line.
Yes. Whatever you enter, including a full sentence, multiple sentences, or multi-line text, is treated as a single block and repeated as a whole that many times.
The tool falls back to a minimum of 1 repetition rather than producing an error or an empty result, so you always get at least one copy of your text back.
Common reasons include generating placeholder or filler content to test a form field or UI layout, creating a repeated pattern for a novelty message, or producing a quick list of identical entries without copy-pasting by hand dozens of times.
Yes, that is exactly what this tool automates — set the count once and get every copy generated at the same time instead of pasting the same text repeatedly by hand.
Yes. Repeating a short phrase a large number of times is a quick way to generate a long block of text to paste into a field and see where it truncates or overflows.
Yes. The repeating happens on the page itself, so you get the same result as a loop in a script without writing one. Paste the text, set the count, and copy the output.
No. Repeating your text runs locally in your browser using JavaScript, so what you type or paste never leaves your device.
Yes. Set the count with the number keypad, tap Copy, and paste into your messaging app. Very large outputs, such as a long paragraph repeated 1,000 times, may be more than some chat apps accept in one message.

How do you repeat text multiple times?
To repeat text, type the word or phrase, enter how many times to repeat it (5 by default, up to a maximum of 1,000), and the result appears with one copy per line, ready to copy. Repeating text this way is handy for testing input fields, generating filler content, or producing lists of identical entries.
