What this Case Converter tool actually does
This is a free text case converter that takes whatever you type or paste and instantly shows it in eight different letter cases at once: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case, and AlTeRnAtInG. Whether you need to change text case for a heading, convert text to uppercase or lowercase, or fix capitalization in a paragraph, it works the same way — every format appears at the same time, with its own Copy button.
There is no dropdown to pick one target format first. All eight conversions run the moment there is text in the box, so you can compare them side by side and copy whichever one you actually need.

Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you type or paste is uploaded anywhere.
Converting text case without installing anything
You do not need a word processor or a code editor's find-and-replace to change text capitalization. This free online case converter runs entirely inside your browser tab: paste your text, read all eight formats, copy the one you want. There is no signup, no trial period, and no limit on how many times you use it.
The eight case formats, explained
- UPPERCASE and lowercase are straightforward letter shifts, useful for headings or normalizing pasted text.
- Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word — the format most headings and titles use.
- Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter after each period, question mark, or exclamation mark, matching normal prose.
- camelCase joins words with no separator and capitalizes each word after the first, for variable and function names.
- snake_case and kebab-case both lowercase everything and swap spaces for underscores or hyphens, for database keys, file names, and URL slugs.
- AlTeRnAtInG flips each character between lower and upper case for a stylized effect.
Fixing text pasted in the wrong case
Text copied from a scanned PDF, an old spreadsheet export, or a system that stores everything in all caps is a common annoyance. Paste it in here and copy the lowercase or Sentence case row instead of retyping it by hand — the same trick works in reverse for text that needs to stand out as a heading in Title Case or UPPERCASE.
Case Converter terms explained
A few terms get used almost interchangeably around this task. Here is what each one means on this page.
| Term | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Uppercase | Every letter converted to its capital form, e.g. HELLO WORLD |
| Lowercase | Every letter converted to its small form, e.g. hello world |
| Title Case | The first letter of every word capitalized, e.g. Hello World |
| Sentence case | Only the first letter of each sentence capitalized, e.g. Hello world. Next sentence. |
| Capitalization | The general term for which letters in a piece of text are uppercase |
| Capital letters | Uppercase letters specifically, as opposed to lowercase |
| Text formatting | How text is styled or structured, which capitalization is one part of |
| Character case | Whether an individual letter is uppercase or lowercase |
Converting on Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android
The tool runs in any modern browser, so it works the same on Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android, without downloading anything. It is used the same way everywhere — a case converter USA writer, a case converter Canada developer, and a case converter UK student are all pasting text into the same box and copying the same eight outputs.
Common uses
- Developers reformatting variable, function, or file names into camelCase, snake_case, or kebab-case
- Writers and editors fixing headings or titles typed in all caps or all lowercase
- Turning a phrase into a URL-friendly kebab-case slug or a database-friendly snake_case key
- Normalizing inconsistent capitalization in text pasted from a spreadsheet or scanned document

How do you change text to uppercase, lowercase or title case?
Paste text into a case converter and every variant appears at once: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case and aLtErNaTiNg. Each result has its own copy button. Title Case capitalises the first letter of every word, while Sentence case capitalises only the first letter after each full stop, question mark or exclamation mark.
What is the difference between camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case?
All three join multi-word names without spaces. camelCase lowercases the first word and capitalises each following word, as in userName. snake_case lowercases everything and joins words with underscores, as in user_name. kebab-case lowercases everything and joins with hyphens, as in user-name, which is common in URLs and CSS class names.
