Why use Invoice Generator?

The Invoice Generator computes tax on the discounted subtotal, not the full subtotal: the discount is applied first, then tax is calculated on what remains, and each line total is rounded to the cent before the rows are summed. That per-line rounding mirrors how QuickBooks and similar accounting software handle currency, so totals should match what a client expects to see. Amount paid is subtracted last to produce a balance due, which is useful for progress billing or partial deposits. Everything runs client-side. Filling in the header fields, line items, discount, and tax updates the subtotal, discount, tax, total, and amount due in real time, and the PDF is assembled in the browser with pdf-lib, the same library behind the JPG to PDF tool, so no invoice data is ever sent to a server. You can also use the Print button to save the invoice sheet through your system print dialog instead of downloading a PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is my invoice data stored?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Refreshing clears fields unless you download the PDF first.

Can I add my logo?

Not in this version. The PDF includes text fields and line totals. Use a design tool for branded templates if needed.

How is tax calculated?

Tax applies to the subtotal minus the discount, not the full subtotal. The discount is subtracted first, then tax is calculated on what remains and rounded to the cent.

What PDF library is used?

pdf-lib runs client-side, the same approach as our JPG to PDF tool.

Can I use this for partial payments or deposits?

Yes. Enter the amount already paid and the tool subtracts it from the total to show the remaining balance due, which works well for progress billing.
