Can you convert a PDF to JPG?

Yes, and unlike text conversions, this one works on every PDF. Converting to JPG takes a picture of each page, exactly as it looks, so it does not matter whether the PDF contains real text, a scan, or a designed layout. What you see on the page is what you get in the image. The trade-off is that a JPG is a picture: the text in it can no longer be selected or edited.

How to convert PDF to JPG

  1. 1

    Upload your PDF

Drag it into the box, or click to choose it from your device.

  2. 2

Choose your quality, then run the conversion

Each page is rendered into an image at the quality you picked.

  3. 3

    Download your images

Every page comes out as its own JPG, ready to save individually or all at once.

The conversion runs in your browser, so your PDF is never uploaded to a server.

What happens to a multi-page PDF?

Every page becomes its own JPG. A ten page PDF gives you ten separate images, because JPG has no concept of pages the way PDF does. That is exactly what you want when each page needs to stand alone, for example one slide per image or one scanned form per picture.

Why does a PDF to JPG conversion look blurry?

Blurriness comes from resolution, not from the conversion itself. A JPG has a fixed number of pixels, and if a page is rendered into too few of them, zooming in makes the text look soft. It gets more noticeable on large screens and in print.

Two things keep your images sharp. First, convert at a sufficient resolution, which is what the quality setting controls: pick the higher option when the image will be viewed large or printed. Second, view the image at its natural size. Any image looks blurry when stretched far beyond its pixel dimensions, and that is true of every converter, not a fault of one tool.

One more honest note: JPG is a compressed format designed for photographs, so pages that are pure sharp text can show faint artifacts around the letters. For everyday sharing this is invisible. If a page must stay perfectly crisp, keeping it as a PDF is the better format.

Why convert a PDF to JPG at all?

An image goes places a PDF cannot. Websites, slide decks, and messaging apps display images inline, while a PDF shows up as an attachment that needs opening. Some upload forms only accept image files. And a JPG of a page makes a quick visual preview or thumbnail without sending the whole document. Converting is the bridge: your page becomes a picture that behaves like any other picture.

Is it free, and is my file safe?

The tool is free. No trial, no card, no watermark, and no daily limit.

Because the rendering happens in your browser, your PDF never leaves your device. That matters when you are converting private documents.

Frequently asked questions

Is this PDF to JPG converter free?

Yes. Every conversion is free, with no signup, no watermark, and no daily limit.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

Yes. Converting to JPG renders the page as a picture, so it works the same on scans, text PDFs, and designed layouts. No OCR is needed, because nothing is being read, only displayed.

How do I convert a multi-page PDF to individual JPG files?

Just upload it. Each page automatically comes out as its own JPG, so a ten page PDF gives you ten images.

Why is my PDF to JPG conversion blurry?

It is a resolution issue, not a conversion fault. An image looks soft when it is rendered with too few pixels or stretched beyond its natural size. Convert at a higher quality when available, and view the image at its actual dimensions.

Can I edit the text after converting to JPG?

No. A JPG is a picture, so its text is pixels, not characters. If you need editable text from a PDF, use a PDF to Word conversion instead.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

Not while it is locked. Remove the password first by opening the PDF with it and saving an unprotected copy, then convert that copy.

What is the difference between PDF to JPG and JPG to PDF?

They are opposite directions. PDF to JPG turns document pages into images, which is what this tool does. JPG to PDF wraps images into a document, which is useful for sending photos as a single file. For the other direction, use our JPG to PDF tool.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It runs in a mobile browser on both iPhone and Android, so you can convert on the go.
